Anikulapo-Rise of the Spectre: A Sequel on the Way!
The famous Anikulapo turned out to have a sequel called The Rise of the Spectre.
The first release was an interesting tale about a man (Saro), whose affair with the King’s wife-Arolake caused him his death. However, he was brought back to life by the power of a mystical bird. Let’s just say, the mystery surrounding the bird’s power was sought or stolen by Arolake, his lover. This power was handed over to Saro who then became powerful, arrogant and a cheat.
The prequel being one of Nigerian folktales garnered attention nationally and internationally along with critics and reviews.

It showcased the culture and traditions of the Yorubas’ to the world.
However, what was not contemplated was a sequel.
In a conversation with some people regarding the sequel, 30 per cent had hoped for a sequel while the remaining 70 per cent thought that a sequel was not necessary. The latter percentage thought that no story required a sequel.
Saro got what he deserved, and Arolake did what a betrayed woman could do.
But despite these opinions, we are still eager to see what Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre Season 2 has to offer!
The sequel is to be aired on Netflix from March 1st!
So be ready for another engaging Nigerian tale!
