Breath of Life is a 2023 Nollywood film aired by Prime Video. It is written and directed by Bodunrin Sasore.
The start of the movie narrates the life of Timi, from his youthful, successful, and outstanding years, till he lost the love of his life and only child to the hands of a gang.
As narrated, the once jovial and cheerful Reverend Timi turned against GOD and became hateful locking himself out of the outside world. However, Elijah a new houseboy unknowingly slowly gets to Timi, unfolding the warm part of him that had been left cold for a long time.

First off, I would like to say a big kudos to the production team, especially the cinematography, photography, costume, and make-up teams for creating a masterpiece. The actors did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life! Not forgetting the writer and the director of the movie, Bodunrin Sasore. Kudos to him for creating something different!
“Breath of Life” adds a different feel to Nollywood. It comes off as an inspiring, and quite detailed movie, with a beautiful yet sad story.
At the end of the movie, I couldn’t tell if it was a tragedy or a comedy…I guess it’s a mix of both given that Timi continued a young life (Elijah) while he gave up his.
In addition, the film could be classified as fiction but with some sense of reality making it more interesting and captivating.
Although the “Breath of Life” was a bit predictable, the 90’s setting added a unique touch to the movie.
On the other hand, with everything good, there must be some bad… this brings us to this single question. Why was Anna’s side of the movie portraying a 2023 feeling, except her outfits?
In Anna’s room, there was a modern air conditioner with a wide-inch plasma TV set. Overall it didn’t blend with Mr Coker- the lawyer’s old-school 1970s Mercedes Benz 200. Neither did it rhyme with Mr Timi’s house appliances. Also, Anna’s father’s dressing rather seemed too modern for the eyes.
Furthermore, some scenes felt quite dramatic. But in general, “Breath of Life” is a captivating film I would recommend to you.
It is packed with drama, romance, comedy, tragedy, action, and a bit of fantasy!
