Love in a Pandemic”, the name says it all.

It’s a romcom movie about Bolanle (Nancy Isime) a Customer Service Representative, who found love with Alex (Deyemi Okanlawon) during the COVID-19 pandemic after her breakup with her cheating boyfriend, TJ (Eso Dike)

Love in the pandemic gives off a sweet and nice feeling of love, which will give viewers smiles during most scenes of the movie. The actors did an amazing job. The cinematographers and the wardrobe managers did a great job. Moreso, the dramatic scene where Bolanle smashed TJ’s windscreen and the car’s front door glass is epic, giving a realness and convincing feel.

However,  Bolanle’s apartment is quite snug for a customer support agent in a logistics company in Nigeria. Except she was assisted by TJ, the boyfriend or maybe by her sister.

Also, it’s quite unrealistic for a logistics company in Nigeria to give out Apple laptops and phones to all customer support employees. If “Love in a Pandemic” aimed to portray the logistics company as a big company, it is, therefore, safe to comment that their workstation didn’t correlate with their gadgets, and the same remark goes if the movie planned to showcase the company as a medium-level company.  Irrefutably, one can say that this part of the movie is implausible.

Furthermore, it is portrayed that the work phone that Bolanle used to misdial Alex’s number is the white phone, after she resigned, the company informed her of picking up their gadgets, but at the end scene, it seemed she was still with the phone.  This depicted a poor follow-up of details in the film. Nevertheless, it could be that she got the same brand of the product for herself in the movie, without the viewers’ knowledge.

                                                                          a scene in the movie

In conclusion, “Love in Pandemic” is a movie that will make you start dreaming about some sweet love, and it is spiced up with some engaging drama here and there. Inclusively, the fantasy is quite appealing and worth your escape from reality.
