Blood-sisters! Yes! That’s the latest trending Nollywood film on Netflix we would be reviewing, but as a reminder, Limn is not only for blockbusters but for all kinds of Nollywood movies. it is a 2022 Netflix original seasonal movie with four episodes.
Going forward, I would love to give credit to the producer(s), the directors(s), the scriptwriters, and the entire crew, including the stunning actors that brought this amazing story to life and once again made me a proud Nigerian. The movie, not only was it well scripted, it was powerfully acted and delivered.
And I can never forget to talk about the costumes, mehn! It was dope! Kudos to the wardrobe team.
My favourite character is “Timiyen”. Her entry into the family’s dinner just made me love her. She was sassy and crazy, but with a very emotional and endearing side to her.
Though I have a comment about Kemi’s beheading act. The gunshot can be understood as a spontaneous act of self-defence, but the thought of dismembering a corpse and even carrying out a beheading… one would think Kemi probably has killed before. Watching documentaries or films on that kind of gruesome act is very different from having the boldness to perform it, and not to mention this same sharp street girl, Kemi, lowering her guard and sixth sense to total strangers while on the run is mind-boggling… it should have been Sarah that would easily welcome help, but surprisingly, she was a little bit suspicious of the help than Kemi. Anyways, the human mind can be very irrational, which in all made the character, Kemi more human I guess…
Also, Sarah and Kemi may be acquitted of their crimes of murder and evasion of Law about the murder of Kola, on grounds of self-defence, but what about the murder of the photographer? his death is quite uncertain as nothing was said of it. Meanwhile, I love how it is left for the viewers to figure out the rest of the movie, and I think that there would be another season, as we are unsure if Timiyen pulled the shots on her mother. Or, maybe she shot her mum after she had said “it’s done” and there may never be another season to the movie, who knows?
However, all the actors did an amazing job of perfecting their characters. “Blood sisters” is the kind of movie I would love to have on my phone every time I download a Nollywood movie. It was a bomb and would give the movie an 8/10 rating
