Thicker than Water is another YouTube movie that is highly engaging.
The movie is produced by Omoni Oboli and aired on her YouTube channel- Omoni Oboli TV. The movie was uploaded over 4 weeks ago and it has garnered over 1.3 million views.
‘Thicker Than Water’ tells the story of a selfish African mother who enforces unthinkable responsibilities to her first child- Adesua. Furthermore, Adesua (Omoni Oboli) falls in love and gets pregnant for her driver (Daniel Etim Effiong), which the mother vehemently opposes.
The movie is based on the dreaded aspect of an African life: being the firstborn in a family. Though the movie is fiction it has a high sense of reality making the film very relatable.
Although ‘Thicker Than Water’ was quite predictable it had very engaging scenes packed with all the Nigerian drama of an African mother.
YouTube movies are known for their low-cost production, especially in the aspect of casts or extras. Movies on YouTube employ very few casts with little or no extras .’ Thicker than Water’ had the same appearance, but, all five characters had equally engaging screen time. It made the film very engaging and interesting to watch.
Overall, Thicker Than Water is a must-watch. It is super filled with drama, spiced with romance, with some interesting lessons to be learned.
