TOP 2 AMERICAN CLASSICS OF ALL TIME
I never understood why some Americans would love to watch old films giving that name ” CLASSICS” until I saw The Message in a Bottle (1999) and The Love Letter (1998).
For the suckers of romantic films, these movies will make you wish to have a passionate love experience. Well, at least that is what I started wishing after I watched the film.
In no particular order the first on the list is “Message in A bottle”
Message in a Bottle is about a lady who embarks on her journey of love because of a letter she found on a beach. This film is engulfing with sweet passion, love, and loss. It could leave a tear in your eyes when you are through with it.
My thoughts:
For the former, I felt sad and wanted to sue the scriptwriter for the ending. But I guess, love must not always bring joy… but sadness sometimes. It’s what make life an interesting mystery. The movie reminded me that something so passionate could be lost in a twinkle of an eye. It made me to want to be selfish, and not try to give my life up just to save some strangers’ lives all in the name of being good. After seeing ‘Message in a bottle’ I promised to seize an opportunity and don’t wait for later, and to take a chance in life. With some dark realism, Message in a Bottle is a classic American romance film I would love to see again.
The second is “The Love Letter”
The Love Letter is more like a reincarnation plot. I could call it a love reincarnation. It’s a beautiful love story with beautiful twists and unrealistic but dreamy scenes. it was directed by the late Dan Curtis.
My thoughts:
Let’s just say it was not entirely what I expected when the hero bought that wooden table. It turn out to be a mystic, unrealistic romance that caught my full attention without a skip on any scene. It showcases a sweet yet intense love that transverse time. Although it was a bit predictable on my part as regards the hero’s character, yet it was still unexpected.
I am indeed happy I stumbled upon these two classics, they made my day.
To the lovers of romance, I recommend these my top 2 American classics of all time.
